Christmas Hold Up

So, I haven't posted for a long time because of all the Christmas festivities. (As I'm sure is the same for everyone else.) We had a fantastic Christmas vacation with family back in good old Utah. I'll post more pictures and everything later, but I wanted to post something!

So here is a picture of Camryn with Santa! On Christmas Eve, my sister Cammie had everyone over at her house for fondue. (She and her husband Tim did a fabulous job by the way!) While we were there we heard sleigh bells and there was a knock on the door! It was SANTA!!! He came for a special visit and brought all the kids a special toy! Who it really was, was Cammie's father-in-law and Cammie had purchased little toys for everyone. I thought it was so cute, cool, and thoughtful of Cammie and Tim. It definitely was a fun surprise!
When Camryn was sitting on Santa's lap, Camryn grabbed a hold of his beard with both hands and pulled. I think she was trying to expose him!

Anyways, I'll post more pictures from our recent activities later!

First Real Snow

This past week we got our first real snow! It sure was pretty! ... but not so fun to drive in. I am sad to admit that I got stuck three times. Once in a parking lot on a hill, and the other two times were in my drive way!!! How ridiculous is that! Anyways, our dog Maximus LOVES the snow!!! Well, he pretty much loves water in what ever form it may come in. So, tonight we are supposed to get some more... I hope the weather will give us a break next week!

5 Months Old!!!

I can't believe it has been five months already!!! Look at how much Camryn has grown! It is amazing to me how everyday it seems like there is something new about Camryn. She is eating rice cereal so well now, she loves to play and laugh, and the funniest thing to her is our dog Max. Also, I feel like she is growing like crazy! It seems like she has a week where something actually fits her. The rest of the time her clothes are either to big or to small! I love you so much Camryn!

Like Father Like Daughter

I came up behind Paul and Camryn and thought that it was one of the cutest and funniest things I've ever seen! They are alike and matching in so many ways. I sure love you Paul and Camryn!

Activity Center!

Wow! I thought that Camryn would like her new activity center, but I had no idea just how much!!! She LOVES it!!! I put her in it just after I finished building it, and she couldn't stop smiling!!! The next morning I put her in it to play again, and she was just so wrapped up in it! I tried to get her attention, but it was like I wasn't even there! I think she was having a fantastic time!

My Favorite Jammies!

These are my favorite pajamas of Camryn's. Just wanted to share how cute she is in them!

Twilight

So... I'm a bandwagon jumper. I'll admit it! But I'm only admitting it because now I want everyone else to jump on the bandwagon with me! I had recently been told by several people (Cammie and Brittney in particular) that I needed to read a series of books written by Stephanie Meyer. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.

"What are they about?" I asked.

"Well... They are about a vampire love story" Cammie replied.

What? Are you serious? A Vampire love story? How lame can that be! (This is what I thought in my head.) But Cammie went on to tell me how much she loved the books, and she couldn't put them down, and well, I just had to read them!!! She was dying to talk about them, and I'm sorry to say this Cammie, but you just aren't like that about books. So, I have to say, I was definitely intrigued. After she first told me about them I said that I would read them... then a few weeks went by and Cammie asked if I had read them yet. Nope. Then a few more weeks went by... same thing. But last week (after Cammie asked me several times if I had read them yet!) I decided that I would get the first book and give it a try. So, I started the first book Monday morning. Then before I knew it, the morning was gone! then, Monday was gone, and I didn't want to go to bed! I finished Twilight Tuesday and I had to go to the book store to get the next two books that night! It was the same thing for New Moon and Eclipse. I just couldn't stop reading! I didn't want it to end! I finished the last book on Saturday and it left me hungry for more!!! I am so sad that I have to wait till next fall for the next book! What am I going to do?!?! Cammie what have you done to me! I feel like Cammie has turned me into a vampire that has a terrible thirst for these books! It is all I can think about! I don't want to be like all the obsessed teens out there... but I can't help but want to wear a shirt that says "Team Edward" or "Bite Me" on it... (I don't know how Paul would feel about that.) So, before I keep babbling about the books, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am in love with these books!!! (and Edward for that matter!)

So if anyone wants to talk about these books, let me know! I'm more than happy to!

Also, here is Stephenie Meyer's website where you can get lots of information as well as lots of fun extras if you have already read the book!

Mom and Dad

I was just thinking how it is pretty incredible that Paul and I are parents! The reality of it is kinda scary and so amazing all at once. We love our little girl and wouldn't trade her for anything! I am so glad that Paul and I were blessed to be parents to such a wonderful and happy little girl!

Buddies

Max and Camryn are becoming good buddies! Where ever Camryn is Max is probably laying somewhere close by. Since we had the grandparents visiting Paul and I slept on our air mattress, and Max and Camryn thought that it was a nice place to hang out.

I thought that I would try to take a picture of Max with Camryn laying on him. Well, Max wasn't to sure about this... I think he was worried about being to close to Camryn, as we have gotten after him for that before. Well, then Camryn got a hold of his tail, and started batting at Max's ear. After that, Max had had enough of that! So he got up and Camryn was left on the bed by herself.

Late that night, Max had gotten a hold of a water bottle and started to bite it and play with it. Well, Camryn thought that was pretty hilarious and laughed about it for about 10 minutes! What a funny dog!

Grandpartent Visit!

We had the privilege of having Grandma and Grandpa Romeril come for a visit this past weekend! It was so good to see them and to relax and have a good time. I think that Camryn really enjoyed spending time with them too! She sure smiled a LOT this weekend at them. Over the weekend Grandpa got to help Paul with our basement. They put up a lot of sheet rock and had a good time while doing it I think! While they did that, Grandma, Camryn and I got to go shopping! On Sunday night the power went out for a long time. So, what did we do? We played games by lamp light! I thought that it was really fun! Also this weekend, Camryn got to try solid food for the first time! She did really well eating her rice cereal I thought!
Her first bite she just let the cereal sit there in her mouth like she didn't know what the heck to do with it! Her face expression just looked confused too. She was pretty funny!
Camryn sure loved to be held by her Grandma! I have to admit, I was a little concerned that Camryn wouldn't fall asleep for me since her Grandma was so good at cuddling her! We love you Grandma!

As you can tell from the picture, Camryn sure likes her Grandpa! I think Camryn smiled instantly whenever Grandpa was around! That Grandpa sure is fun! We love you too Grandpa!
We loved having Grandma and Grandpa visit and we can't wait to see them again at Christmas! We sure do love them!

4 Months Old

I can't believe that Camryn is 4 months already!!! I'm sure that I am going to be saying that I can't believe it for the rest of her life too. So we went to the doctor today and Camryn is doing wonderfully! She weighed in at 13 lbs 4.5 oz and is 24 in long. So she is just about in the 50th percentile for height and weight. Of course the worst part of her visit was getting shots. I have to say, I think she did rather well considering, but it is never fun to watch. Camryn is getting so big it seems, but as she is growing it is fun to see her developing too! She is getting so good at playing with her toys and she grabs everything! Also she is chewing on everything too! This weekend we are going to try giving her rice cereal for the first time! I am so excited and happy to see Camryn growing and happy!

Camryn loves hitting her toys. It is pretty funny to watch. Her arms almost seem like they have minds of their own!

Getting COLD

Well, the cold has finally come. I think last night we had our first hard freeze! I don't mind the cold I guess, but I sure was enjoying the crisp fall weather! The weather where all you need is a sweater or a light jacket. I like that. But it can't stay that way forever I guess. So we got Camryn one of those little bundle bags for her car seat so she can stay cozy in the cold! I think that she likes it!

She sure seems cozy anyway!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Happy Halloween everyone!
We had such a fun year with all of the pumpkins, candy, and costumes! Paul and I didn't dress up this year, but we had fun making Camryn a cute little creature! We haven't decided on what exact little creature she was, but we know it was a cute one! People have guessed kitty, mouse, hamster, and bear. We will let you decide. Paul was so thrilled that he was able to pass out candy to all the kids! I think he has been looking forward to it all day! ( or maybe not...) But he is a good sport. I think he did have fun setting up the little photo shoot for Camryn though.
I think that Camryn is just a tiny bit bigger that this pumpkin!

She and the pumpkin are such good friends!

Camryn was slowly sliding over.

What a cute little creature!

Giggly Girl

Camryn was so giggly tonight! I thought that it was so funny! This is the longest that she has laughed too! I was happy that I was able to catch it on video! Also, tonight a little after we took the video, Camryn rolled over from her tummy to her back for the first time!!! Good job honey!

I Love Daddy!

Camryn loves her daddy! She loves to snuggle with dad, laugh with dad, and even hang out and play video games with dad!

Tag! I'm it...

So, I guess I have been tagged... Now I get to play a blog game! (Thanks Bethany) I hope I can come up with some things that people didn't know about me!

Here are the rules: Each player lists 6 habits/facts about themselves. Once you finish posting, you have to tag 6 other people and list them at the end of the post. (the only problem is I don't know 6 other people that have blogs on here!)

1. Habits:
I have a specific order of things I have to follow in the shower.
I'm a little bit OCD about some things I do too... (it is a little embarrassing to admit this!) I count things like the rings on the phone, or stairs when I'm walking.
(Wow! Habits are really hard to think of!)
I have to check my email everyday.
I'm sure there are more things, but it is hard to come up with habits that I have!

2. Hobbies:
Reading
Drawing (even though I haven't had time to do this forever!)
Feeding my baby (this is something that I feel I'm doing all the time)
Going out to new restaurants with Paul (and Camryn now too!)

3. Favorite Things:
My family! ( Baby Camryn and Paul!)
Camryn's big smiles
My extended family
High Heels
Shopping for High Heels
Shopping for anything really (groceries, houses, home stuff, odds and ends, etc.)
Make-up
Sleeping
Candy
Holidays
Reading
(I could go on and on!)

4. Favorite Place:
My favorite place in the whole world is at my uncle's cabin in Montana. It is on Echo Lake and it is the most beautiful and peaceful place in the whole world! I have nothing but great memories from there! It isn't anything unique or extraordinary and it is hard to explain, but there is just something special about the place! I would live there forever if I could!

5. Websites I Frequently Visit:
http://www.blogger.com/
http://www.facebook.com/
http://www.myfamily.com/
http://www.cuteoverload.com/
There are lots of websites I go to, but these are probably the ones I go to just about every day!

6. My Guilty Pleasures:
TV shows I Love- Grey's Anatomy, The Office, What Not to Wear, Next Top Model, Project Runway
Celebrity Gossip
Sweets!!! (I definitely eat to much of the sugary stuff!)
When Paul goes to work, I love to invite our big dog onto the bed to cuddle with me!
Sometimes when it is time to put Camryn down for a nap in her crib, I just let her sleep in my arms instead.

People I'm tagging: Brittney, Caroline, Kalli, Cammie

Sleeping in the Crib

Camryn has now been sleeping in her crib like a big girl! She is sleeping really well too! The first two nights she woke up in the middle of the night. I just went in and gave her her pacifier then she fell back asleep. But last night when she woke up I just left her for one or two minutes and let her fuss, the she fell right back to sleep! I was so excited! She is getting better and better at putting herself to sleep! And I am pretty excited about getting a full night of sleep too!

It is so hard to wake up!

New Thing

Camryn has a new thing that she likes to do. Chew on and suck on her first two fingers. I think that it is so cute! but at the same time...I'm hoping that it doesn't turn into a bad habit!

Sunday Dress

I just fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it! I had to post pictures too of how cute Camryn was this Sunday! She is growing like crazy and it is amazing to me to watch her progress each day! She is such a joy to have and I feel like she makes everyone smile that is around her.

This picture I think she is looking at the camera like Jim from the office.

Tired Work Out!

Camryn has just gotten to the point where she will reach and try to grab things. It is really fun to watch as she tries to get the coordination down. She still swings her arms around kinda wildly, but she is getting better and stronger every day! In this picture she had been playing with her rings for a while and tired herself out! It is hard work developing new skills!

Wolfley Family Visit!

We had a fun week here at the Goodwin residence! My sister Cammie and her husband Tim and their little girl Jane were able to come for a visit!!! It was the first time I had been able to see Cammie since February and the first time that we were able to see Jane! It was so fun to have the little cousins together! Jane was born on March 1st so she is 4 months older than Camryn. It is amazing to see the development that happens in such a short amount of time. These pictures here are of Jane and Camryn all ready to go shopping! They sure seemed to like each other! Jane kept trying to grab Camryn's face though, and as cute as it was, we had to keep a close watch on her! So we went shopping to the large Mall of America. The largest shopping mall in the USA. You have got to go to the Mall of America if you are in Minnesota! We had a great time though! We even got the girls matching shirts! It was great to spend time with my sister and our little girls!

We decided one night that it would be fun to give the little girls a bath together and take a bunch of pictures! At first it turned out great! The girls were loving the water, and Jane even tried to share some of the bath toys with Camryn. She chewed on one for a minute then she tried to stick it in Camryn's mouth. I think she was trying to teach her what to do. It was pretty cute to watch anyway. But the fun didn't last to long as Jane slipped a little and got scared. This made her cry which then in turn made Camryn cry. Then when Camryn cried, Jane had to cry. They went back an forth like this until we got them out of the tub. It was sad, but funny at the same time!

All in all though, we had a fabulous visit with the Wolfley family and I would love it if they would come again soon! I miss not having my family around me, but it makes it very sweet to see them when I do!

Camryn Annika Goodwin

I know that this is a little bit of old information, but I also know that a lot of you haven't heard the details. I wanted to give a better introduction to my little angel than I did in my last post. I have to say that I had a pretty awesome pregnancy. The first trimester I got a little sick (and only threw up once!) but really it wasn't bad at all. Then my second trimester was a breeze! Even though I was feeling great I swear my stomach was getting huge! The third trimester was going great too until we found out our little girl was breech... I tried all the silly stretches and tricks I could find on the internet to get her to flip, but she was quite happy to stay as she was. So just after I hit 37 weeks I went into the hospital to have an external version done. This was an experience that I hope I don't have to have again, but it was worth it in the end. Our little girl flipped after 20 minutes of trying, but she stayed head down! Two weeks before my due date I was SO ready to be done! I felt so huge, tired, uncomfortable, and anxious! I didn't care how much it was going to hurt or what I had to do, I was just ready! My due date was July 5th but my little peanut was happy to be where she was for a few more days. Two days before she was born, I started to get contractions, but they were so irregular. I was also hoping like everyone else, that I would have the baby on 07/07/07 but that didn't happen. Finally on July 8th at around 4:00 am I went into labor! I didn't go into the hospital though until 1:00 pm and even then they almost sent me home! So I walked the halls, sat in the tub, etc. Then finally around 9:00 pm it was time to push. I had been pushing for over an hour when my uterus started to give out and I had to be put on pitocin to help with the contractions. It worked though and my baby girl was born at 10:56 pm on July 8, 2007. She arrived healthy and happy!

She has always been a calm and relaxed baby. When I had the external version done, she was sleeping, and even when she was being pushed out the nurse said she was sleeping! She was born at 6 lbs 11 oz and 20 1/2 in long.

Paul and I were so happy that she arrived safe and healthy! The whole time I was in labor, Paul was right there by my side. He was so supportive and sweet. I feel so blessed to not only have such a wonderful husband but an incredible daughter as well. She has been the best baby from day one and we are sure that she will continue to be! It is hard to believe sometimes that we are parents and that she is actually ours to keep, but I wouldn't have it any other way!!! I love being a mom!!!

My Little Family

My little family began on April 24, 2004 when my husband Paul and I were married. We first lived in Crystal, Minnesota for 4 months while Paul and I worked for the summer. After that we returned to school in Rexburg, Idaho. Paul finished his degree in business finance and I received my associates degree.

After graduation Paul took a job back in Minnesota. We have been in Minnesota ever since, and I don't see us leaving anytime soon either! We moved into our apartment and I think the first weekend we were there, we went to a pet adoption day. It was there that we found our dog Maximus! He is the best dog ever!!!

After living in an apartment for over a year, we purchased our first house!

Not to much longer after we moved into our house we found out that we were pregnant!!! We were both very excited to expand our family! I had a pretty easy pregnancy all up until we found out that our little girl was breech... that was a bit rough! We managed to get her flipped though, and after that it was back to the waiting game.

Our little girl made her debut on July 8, 2007 after a fairly long and difficult labor, but she made it!!! Safe and healthy!!!

Now we are a great and happy little family!!!

First Post

I was so impressed by my friend Caroline's blog, that I decided to post my own. I hope that it works!
